One of my favourite things to do if I go somewhere new is to spend a few hours just going out for a walk. I don’t plan a route or a destination I just start walking and if I get lost I’ll just keep walking until I happen across something I recognise again.
You don’t even have to go far from home to try this out, even in your own town there are probably roads you’ve never walked down, turnings you’ve just never taken, why not try one and see where you end up.
One of the best things we can do is to start to treat life like one of these walks. When we start life we don’t know how long we’re going to be going, we don’t know which turnings we’ll take, we don’t know who we’ll run into or what we may witness. If we let the uncertainty scare us too much then we will miss out on so many great things that we might have happened across if we’d just taken that turning we’ve never explored before.
Jesus never said that our walk was over when we gave our lives to him, instead he told us that he will walk with us down all the twists and turns and dead ends we may wander down. Don’t be afraid to try a different turning in life, Jesus will walk it with you.
