No Barrier To Entry (He Made You Holy)

If the Church turns people away because they don’t measure up then it isn’t doing Church right. If Christians ever make out that you have to be perfect or even reasonably well-adjusted then we’re doing Church wrong. If we ever give anyone the idea that God hates them we are doing Church wrong (and doing the devil a favour.)

There are all sorts of things that keep people from God and these are the things that God hates but God doesn’t hate anyone. God is good, God is love, God can see what is worth loving in people and more than that he loves us because we are his creation.

There is no barrier to entry with God, you don’t have to have enough money or a good reputation or have put in enough time doing good works. There isn’t a trial period or a first come first served system, there is just love and acceptance.

Anyone and everyone can turn to God, the Church is made up of people from every imaginable background, we are all imperfect people saved by grace. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ which is given freely to any who turn to him and ask for forgiveness. He paid a great cost so that we could receive freely that which we could never earn. If we then turn around and deny others that which we have been given because of reasons of gender, sexuality, background or anything else we make a mockery of the incredible sacrifice Jesus made to save us.

“He made you Holy by means of Christ Jesus, just as he did for all people everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours.” 1 Corinthians 1:2

God Bless
